Summer Music Academy
June 27-June 30, 2016
The HASD Summer Music Academy is open to any HASD student, grades 5-9 band students, who have at least one year of music instruction on their instrument, and grades 4-9 for chorus students. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Hazleton Area High School. Rehearsals will be in the HS Band Room and Chorus Room.
Instruments accepted for instruction are flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto, tenor, and bari saxophones, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.
Snack time will be scheduled each day. Snacks will be provided. Students may bring something to drink-water is recommended.
Students will receive an official Academy tshirt to wear for the concert.
The Academy will meet each day from 9am-12pm.
The Academy will conclude with a concert on the last day for the public in the HAHS Auditorium. More information will be sent home with the students.
The cost for the Academy is $40 per student.
The Academy is another great opportunity for music students to continue playing, developing skills, and rehearsing in ensembles over the summer. The continuation of playing their instrument will ensure success in the upcoming school year.
