Dual Enrollment through Penn State

Attention Current Juniors and Sophomores:
Hazleton Area High School and Penn State University are proud to announce an exciting opportunity available to Hazleton Area High School juniors and sophomores during the 2015-2016 school year through the Lion Scholars Dual Enrollment Program.   Participating students will be able to enroll in a three-credit Penn State communication arts and sciences course, Effective Speech (CAS100A), at a 75% tuition reduction.
Interested students and their parents or guardians are invited to an information session on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. in the Hazleton Area High School library.  At this session, those interested can meet Penn State University and Hazleton Area faculty and administrators, review the application process, and have questions answered.  This event is free, but registration is requested.  Please call the high school guidance office at 570-459-3221, extension 81516 for registration and additional details.

Gallery Night

We cordially invite everyone in the Hazleton Area School District to visit the Hazleton Area High School, the Hazleton Area Career Center, and the Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences for its first annual Gallery Night. All visitors will have the opportunity to view students’ work, which will be displayed throughout the high school buildings, for all courses and subjects. We welcome everyone to visit between the hours of 6:30-8:00 PM on the following dates:

Monday, May 4, 2015 @ Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences

Tuesday, May 5, 2015 @ Hazleton Area High School and Hazleton Area Career Center

Cap and Gown money is now overdue.  Please bring your payment to Mrs. Reggie in room 140 as soon as possible.  The cost of the gown is $14, cash or check. 


You may purchase your 2015 yearbook in the library! Yearbooks will be on sale for $65. Checks should be made payable to “Hazleton Area High School Yearbook.” Don’t miss out on this opportunity to preserve your treasured high school memories. The last day to purchase a yearbook for $65 will be Friday, March 6. After that date, there will be an increase in price.
