    1. Vocabulary Word #19  vie-(verb) to compete; to strive for victory or superiority
    2. Set up After Twenty Years in our notebook (pge 15 Table of Contents)
    Title: After Twenty Years
    Author: O.Henry
    Genre: Fiction (surprise ending)
    Setting ( leave enough space to write in the setting from the story- about 5 lines)
    Create 3 characterization wheels. One for Police officer, one for Jimmy Wells, and one for Bob
     
    3.  Reread the short story and fill in the setting and the 3 characterization wheels.

    1. Vocabulary Word of the day- # 20 willful (adj) stubbornly self- willed; done on purpose, deliberate
    2. Read "After Twenty Years" pg. 426-427
    3. If you didn't already add the new table of Contents page- After Twenty Years- do so now. 
    4.  If you didn't already set up the page, do that now...

    5.  After you read the story once, go back and reread the story and fill in the characterization wheels with the main about the characters.
    6. Once you are finished with the story and the characterization wheels, you may work on the study island that is due by Oct. 19th. If you are finished with that, go to the quizlet link below to practice all 20 vocabulary words. 
     
    7. Quizizz - "After Twenty Years" link is below.
     
    8.  Write your own short story with a surprise ending.  Maybe Mr. Marnell will have you read your story over the loud speaker.
