When you complete the assignments on my page, you will click the link at the bottom of this page to go to your next teacher's page. Take your time and complete the assignments at your own pace. Establish a daily routine. If you have a question about any assignment, my email is listed above.

Hello,It was so nice hearing from many of you last week. This week we are going to begin a brand new lesson. It is going to be on technology. Thank you to everyone who has completed and turned in work so far. I will leave the May 4th lesson up if you still need to work on it. Learning Objectives for the week:S4.A.1.1.1 Distinguish between Scientific Fact and Opinion
S4.A1.1.2 Identify and describe examples of common technological changes to present in the Community (eg. energy production,transportation, communications,agriculture, packaging materials) that have either positive or negative impacts on society or the environment.

Assignment #1 After listening to Lesson 1, Scientific Knowledge and Reasoning, Do the Discussion question at the top of p. 41 and the 3 multiple choice questions in your notebook. If you are having trouble with the questions, go back to the video. Reread Lesson 1 or listen to it again.
Assignment #2 Answer the following questions: 1. What things do you think of when you hear the word technology? 2. What are some very early inventions that you know of from years ago? 3. What is your favorite technological item, and why is it your favorite?

After reading through all slides, look at the 4 pictures of technology near the end of the slides. Then answer the following questions. 1. What things do you see pictured for the current technology? 2. Do you think it is more useful than the past technology pictured? 3. Why or why not? (The last picture on the past technology is a MAP..it may be hard to see.) Write your answers in your notebook.
Assignment #4 Answer the following questions in your notebook. 1. How do you think technology is good for people? (benefits) 2. How can technology be bad for people? 3. Make up and draw a technological invention that you would love to have one day in the future. 4.Give it a name. 5. Tell what it does. 6. Tell what problem it will solve. 7. Last, tell if it could be bad for people or cause a problem in some way.

Extra Practice:
Extra Practice#1:. Make a list of 5 types of technology you can't live without. How would your life be different with out these things?Extra Practice #2 Draw an technological invention that you would love to have if it was ever possible. Give it a name. Tell what it does.
Tell what problem it will solve. Also, tell if it could be bad for people or cause a problem in some way.
