When you complete the assignments on my page, you will click the link at the bottom of this page to go to your next teacher's page. Take your time and complete the assignments at your own pace. Establish a daily routine. If you have a question about any assignment, my email is listed above.

Hi Boys and Girls,I am so excited to see the work some of you have been sending me. Keep doing a great job. I hope to see a few more students sharing their work with me in the next two weeks. We only have a little while longer to go. This week we are going to be learning about systems. If you need help with anything, you know I am here to help you. Learning Objectives for the week:S4.A.3.1 Identify systems and describe relationships among parts of a familiar system (eg. digestive system, simple machines, water cycle).
S4.A.3.3 Identify and make observations about patterns that regularly occur and reoccur in nature.

Assignment #1 After watching the video, answer the 4 questions on p. 57 in your Science notebook. Click here for p. 57 Questions
Assignment #2 Choose any system made by nature. In your notebook, write the name of the system you chose. Then draw and label the parts of the system. (Example: A system made by nature is the digestive system. Then I would draw it and label the mouth, esophagus,stomach, small intestine, large intestine, etc.)
Assignment #3 Choose any man made system. In your notebook, write the name of the system you chose. Then draw and label some of the parts of the system.(Example: A man made system is a pencil sharpener. Then I would draw it and label the handle, the blade, the gears etc.)
Assignment #4 Look at the following pictures of 6 simple machines. Click here for pictures and information. Read about each one. Then List in your notebook the 6 machines. Tell what each machine is made up of and an example. I will do the first one. Copy it in your notebook and then add the other 5.

It is made up of a slanted surface. An example of an inclined plane is a ramp.

Extra Practice:
1. Look around your house or yard. Find some simple machines. Make a list of all the simple machines that you found.2. Tell how the simple machies help make doing work easier.
