Passed Week Assignments
Week 1 Lesson:
For this week you will be reviewing/finishing up our music history unit with the modern period. Below I have included two links. The first one will bring you to the power point. The second will be a video walking you through the presentation.
Modern Period Presentation:
If you would like to listen to me go through the Modern Period please click this link:
When you are done you will be completing a few questions on Edmodo. Please keep in mind that in Edmodo the questions are labeled as a quiz, but are just a few questions to check that you understand the Modern Period.
Week 2 Lesson:
For this week you will be learning about Foley Music. In order to explore Foley Music we will be using a HyperDoc. A HyperDoc is an online document with all of the links and information about the lesson.
Think of it as a one stop shop for your learning. I will give you the link to the HyperDoc below, but I will also give you a link where I go through it with you. HyperDocs can be a little tricky to understand at first so the second link will explain how to use it!
Foley Music HyperDoc:
If you would like to listen to me go through the Foley Music HyperDoc click this link:
When you are done you will be completing the Lesson 2 assignment on Edmodo. As a reminder I am using Edmodo to keep track of your work. Unfortunately music is not on Edgenuity, so I cannot use it.
Here is your Assignment: For this week you will be answering the following two prompts. In the assignment box of EDMODO (you need to click into the assignment) please label each answer with a 1. and a 2. That way I know what your response is for each.
- In your own words describe the job of a Foley Artist.
- List at least 3 sound effects Foley Artists would need to add to the below video labeled "SILENT MOVIE SCENE" to make it sound realistic.
WEEK 3 --> Lesson 3 (May 18th)
This week we will be learning about Music Producers! Just like last week we will use a HyperDoc for this lesson. Remember a HyperDoc is a document that has all of the information and links for an entire lesson! *oow, ahh*. Anyway, below you will see two links.
The first one is the HyperDoc by itself. You should use this to learn about Music Producers.
The second one is a video that goes over the HyperDoc if you are still confused on how to use one. The important thing is that I do not visit all of the links in this video and to be able to answer the assignment questions you will have to explore the HyperDoc yourself.
Week 4 - Lesson 4
There are two questions you should easily be able to answer if you followed along with the HyperDoc and watched/read all of the links. Remember we are using EDMODO to communicate. Please log on to EDMODO and in the response box of this assignment (Lesson 3 - What is a Music Producer?) please answer the following questions making sure to label your answers with a 1 and 2.
- In your own words what is a music producer’s job?
- List 3 things that a music producer does when creating music.
This week we will be learning about one of a music producer's tools, a music sequencer. Similar to weeks past we will be using a HyperDoc for the lesson. Keep in mind to click the Hyperlinks (Blue and underlined words) throughout the lesson in order to use the full value of the HyperDoc.
Music Sequencers HyperDoc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pA5rYpMRpNLbBHxk05RSsqctmgD8G3aFNMwsMsG5TV0/edit?usp=sharing
The following link is a video that goes over this week’s HyperDoc: https://youtu.be/mPmiwofXxXU
In order to complete this week's assignment please visit the APPLY section of the HyperDoc above as you will need to create songs using online music sequencers.
There are two parts to your assignment this week. Remember we are using EDMODO to communicate. Please log on to EDMODO and in the response box of this assignment (Lesson 4 - Music Sequencers) label each part/answer with a 1 and 2.
- Using the Apply Box above create a piece of music using a sequencer, save your creation, and share the link in the Edmodo assignment box.
- Answer the following question. Why do you think a music producer would use a sequencer? *(There is no right answer. I want to know your opinion)*
