Food allergies have become more prevalent in children.
One in thirteen children has food allergies—that’s about two in every U.S. classroom. Everyone from the school nurse to the cafeteria staff plays a role in creating a safe environment for students with food allergies. Food allergy management is extremely important.
MY CLASSROOM IS A PEANUT FREE ZONE.
I ask that you do not send any peanut products for snacks. I allow all students to eat their snack in my room if they are scheduled with me during their snack. Peanuts are not allowed in my room. Students with peanut products must not bring them into my room and, even after touching or eating them, must thoroughly wash their hands and anything that the peanut products touched.
