What is an IEP?
Posted by Jeanne Cannon-Panzarella on 8/20/2023
I.E.P. stands for Individualized Education Program or Individualized Education Plan. An IEP is the written plan for the provision of special education support and services for students with disabilities and who are gifted. Under the federal law, IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), students who qualify under one of Pennsylvania's 13 categories are entitled to an education that meets their unique needs and provides access to the general education curriculum.
