LIFE SAVERS CLUB

This December, we wish to celebrate, honor, and remember our organ and tissue donors who have saved and enhanced lives through their donation. We are participating in the National Tree of Life and creating a tree made of the names of our loved ones. Angels can be found in the offices of the HS and the CC or you can contact Mrs. Yanac. We are holding a "learn to finger knit" class on Monday 12.15 from 3-5 in the library. This is an incredibly fun skill to learn. No tools are required, and you can complete a blanket in 2 hours! Participants must bring their own yarn. The class size is limited to 15 people, so registration is required. Please see the Life Savers board on the second floor or outside room 222 for the link. We will hold another class in January.

SADD CLUB

SADD Club is sponsoring the “Angel Gift Giving Tree” through Catholic Social Services again this year. If any teachers, faculty members, staff, or students would like to participate, please see Mrs. Pino in the HAHS library to pick a tag off the tree. All NEW, UNUSED, & UNWRAPPED items should be returned to Mrs. Pino before TODAY, Friday, December 12th. Thank you in advance for helping to make this community service project a tremendous success!

KING’S LLEO PROGRAM

Seniors, if your household income is under $50,000, you may qualify for King’s College’s LLEO Program, which covers full tuition and fees. This is a great opportunity to attend college with minimal debt, apply to Kings College and file your FAFSA before May 1.

FAFSA

The 2026–27 FAFSA is now available at studentaid.gov. The FAFSA is the first and most important step to get money for college. It also helps determine your eligibility for financial aid from the state level and colleges. Even if you think you won't qualify, you should still apply, as most students receive some form of financial assistance including loans.

NURSE’S OFFICE

The Pennsylvania Department of Health mandates a physical examination be completed by a care provider/physician on all students entering 11th grade. The Pa Dept of Health also mandates all students receive a Meningococcal (MCV) vaccination on or after the student’s 16th birthday to enter 12th grade. Please keep this in mind and discuss it with your care provider/physician at the time of 11th grade physical exam. The state of Pennsylvania requires that all students entering 12th grade must have a 2nd dose of Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV). If the first dose was given at 16 years of age or older, then only one dose is required, and that shall count as the 12th grade dose. Written proof of this immunization from your physician must be returned to the school nurse prior to the first day of 12th grade. Failure to provide the necessary documentation will put your child at risk for exclusion from school.
