Gym Class Week 5
Posted by Kristin Kondash on 5/31/2020We Made It!!! It's the last week of school! We had such a great year! I am so thankful that you stayed active with me all year, especially these last few weeks while we were at home. I know the last few weeks have been very different, but I was so happy to be able to stay connected with each and every one of you! Remember to stay active over the summer and make sure to stay safe. Go swimming, go for walks/bike rides with your family, play with your brothers and sisters outside, practice our exercises we did during class, dance around your house. Exercise is anything that makes your heart beat and you have fun doing!
I am going to miss my 2nd graders so very much and I wish you the best of luck in 3rd grade! Please rememer to come visit me, you know I am always around in the morning and afternoon for bus duty!! Always remember Mr. Latella's words, "When you do good things, good things happen." NEVER forget it and take those wise words with you everywhere in life, even if you have to wait for the good things, they will come!
For my kindergarten and first graders, Get ready to Get moving when we get back to school in the fall. I have so many new and fun activites planned for us! I CAN'T wait! Practice tying those shoes over the summer! Watch my video and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!

Gym Class Week 4
Posted by Kristin Petrulsky on 5/24/2020We made it to Week 4. Thank you for those who are participating in my activities!! This week I have 3 more activities for you!
1. Cardio Drumming Video- Follow along with me and get your cardio on!*Remember Cardio is anything that gets our heart pumping!! I used things I had in my house! Use whatever you have be creative! My drum sticks are spoons from my kitchen! Have fun!
Follow along with my shoe tying video! This is something you can practice throughout the summer!
2. Create your own Jug Catcher! Click the link for the instructions on how to create a scoop catcher like we use in the gym. All you need is a pair of socks, create a sock ball and have fun catching all summer long! Homemade Jug Scoop
3. Keep moving with these fun workout videos found on YouTube!
This week is supposed to be really nice weather... GET OUTSIDE AND PLAY WITH YOUR FAMILY, GO FOR A WALK, REMEMBER TO KEEP MOVING!! I MISS YOU!!

Gym Class Week 3
Posted by Kristin Petrulsky on 5/17/2020Here are 3 more fun activities for you to do this week! You may do these activities as many times as you want throughout the week. Emailing a picture/video of yourself completing the activites is not required, but it is encouraged! I love seeing you guys in action! Send to petrulskyk@hasdk12.org
1. Week 3 Challenges: In the video I use stuffed animals, if you do not have stuffed animals you can use anything you have at home (toliet paper, paper towels, pillows, etc.)
2. Click the link and complete the worksheet. If you do not have dice, just write numbers 1-6 on small pieces of paper and put into a cup or hat and pick them out this will replace the dice! Do this for 5 minutes. Repeat throughout the week as much as you would like.

3. Do some stretching/Yoga! I included two Cosmic Kids Yoga! Choose the one you like best or do both for more of a challenge!! Click the link below or scroll down to view videos.

Gym Class Week 2

1. ABC Scavenger Hunt (video below) Try to beat my time! Good Luck!!!
2. Spell Your Name Fitness Worksheet. (No need to print this worksheet, just click and complete)
3. Complete the HIIT Fitness Warmer from the Avengers! (we did this during class, you should remember some of the exercises, video below)

Below are 3 activities you can complete this week!
1. Watch and try my 3 challenges using things you should have at your house and my Trolls Cardio Drumming Routine. I used a wooden stool and my drum sticks are spoons from my kitchen. Be CREATIVE! Use anything you have at your house for the drum and drum sticks. (Couch, stool, chair, spoons, pencils).
2. Complete the Fitness Patterns Worksheet!! (click link) Fitness Patterns
3.Cosmic Kids Yoga- A Very Hungry Caterpillar
Remember to fill out the form on the chalkboard in the virtual classroom to let us know what you did this week. I would love for you to video yourself and email me the video of you doing some drumming! Make sure to check back next week for more videos!
