#1. Understanding Individual Quantities (Cardinality)
• Cardinality is knowing the number of objects in a group or set.
• The last number said when counting is the quantity of the group or set.Why is this important? This skill is used on a daily basis.
Counting is a predictor of future math abilities. Without the ability to count, you will be unable to add and subtract. This skill will help children understand counting order and counting sequence. This skill ties to literacy when recalling information from a story. What happens first, second, third, etc?
