    In this class, we will read historic works such as:

    • The Crucible by Arthur Miller
    • Of Mice and Men by John Steinback
    • Short stories by Kate Chapin, William Faulkner, Edgar Allan Poe
    • Poems by Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Maya Angelou, and Langston Hughes
    • Speeches by John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, and Patrick Henry

    Grading Policy

    • Late work policy: Late submissions for assignments are accepted for 14 days past the due date. After 14 days, the dropbox will become inactive and the assignment will no longer be accepted.
    • Points will not be deducted from assignments that are submitted within the 14-day grace period.
    • How assignments are graded (i.e. completion, accuracy, etc.) will be detailed in class and in the assignment description on Skyward. If you are confused about why you lost points for an assignment, please email Miss H at hetheringtona@hasdk12.org
    • If you have extenuating circumstances that interfered with your ability to turn in work on time, please email Miss H at hetheringtona@hasdk12.org
