Classroom Procedures for Mr. Reed
1. Upon entering the classroom, students should immediately place their cellphone in the holder in front of the room. Students are not permitted to use cellphones, earbuds, or any other electronic devices besides their computers during class! If I see a student using an electronic device, I will take it and it will need to be retrieved in the office at the end of the day by the student (or parent if necessary).
2. A bell ringer will be assigned each day. The bell ringer will be posted to Microsoft Teams. After you put your phone in the holder, you should immediately open up Microsoft Teams, gather necessary supplies (textbook, notebook, pencil, etc.) and begin working on the bell ringer.
3. New vocabulary will be taught each chapter. You should study the vocabulary each night in order to memorize the spelling and meaning of each word. You need this information for class activities/assessments. This is an important part about learning a language!
4. New grammar topics will be assigned each chapter. It is important to study and practice them inside and outside of the classroom!
Absenteeism/Late Work:
1. A daily agenda will be posted to Microsoft Teams for each class. Notes will be posted to Teams as well. It is the responsibility of the student to check the daily agenda if absent and make up all work posted.
2. If an assignment is checked or expected to be turned-in on a day a student is absent, it will automatically become a zero in Skyward. When the student returns to school, it is their responsibility to show me the work to get credit OR email me to inform me they are turning in make-up work. If the student does not notify me, they may not receive credit.
3. Students have the number of days they are absent to make up the work. For example, if a student is absent Monday and Tuesday, they will have Wednesday and Thursday to make up assignments and are responsible for showing me the work by Friday.
4. If a student wishes to turn in late work (other than for absenteesim), they are responsible for showing it to me in class or emailing me to inform me they are turning in late work. They must do this to get credit, however, late work will receive a deduction of at least five (5) percentage points per day.
Mr. Reed's Classroom Rules
1. Be Safe - Safety comes first! Do not do anything that would not be safe for you, your classmates, or your teacher. Follow all emergency procedures.
2. Be Kind - Be respectful to your classmates and teacher. Everyone, including me, is here to learn something from each other. We do not talk or fool around while someone is speaking. The class is a safe space. We all need to participate in order to learn. We do not laugh at or make fun of each other - we only encourage each other.
3. Be Prepared - Be ready for class each day. Bring your notebook, a writing utensil, and your computer to class. Have your homework completed. Study and practice your Spanish each night!
