Late Assignment Policy
1. Missing homework results in a zero. If it is brought in the next day, 50% will be given. No credit is given after two days.
2. Projects handed in after the deadline will have 10 points deducted each day. After 3 days, a zero is given.
Retesting
If there is a specific reason a student needs to retest for a FAILING grade, a parent must submit the reason in writing to the teacher. Some acceptable reasons include illness, death in the family, trauma, etc. Failure to prepare is not a reason for a retest, since students are given more than 1 night to study. Only 1 retest will be given in a school year. The grade for the retest will always be an average of both scores.
Helpful Grading Information
Please note: Participation grades are based on attendance, classwork, and involvement in daily lessons.
Absenteeism
When students are absent, they are responsible for making up some missed assignments. It is strongly encouraged that a parent/sibling/friend make arrangements with the office or myself in the morning to gather the work. If this is not possible, then students will be given 1 day to make up work for each day they are absent. It is the student's responsibility to turn the work in upon their return. All homework and classwork assignments are posted on my webpage daily! Students are expected to check this website for missed work.
