Subject: 7th Grade PreAlgebra
Class Period(s): 1st, 2nd, and 8th
Teacher Message:
We made it to the FINAL WEEK!!!!!!! We are continuing the course in Edgenuity under PDE Spaide 7th PreAlgebra 1920.. This week we are focusing on VOLUME, specifically looking at these two topics: Proportions (1 hour 11 mins) and Introduction to Percents (1 hour 19 mins). For both topics, you are completing 5 parts: Warm up, Instruction, Summary, Assessment and Quiz. If you get stuck go back into the Instruction and/or use the guided notes to help you.
Remember, you must have completed 51% of the course by Friday, June 5th to receive a SATISFACTORY for the 4th Quarter.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me using spaidet@hasdk12.org, through Edgenuity or me
Weekly Objective(s):
Write a proportion to represent a given relationship.
Solve proportion problems by using equivalent fractions.
Solve proportion problems involving complex fractions.
Use cross products to solve for an unknown quantity in a proportion problem.
Describe why using cross products is a valid method for solving proportions.
Use cross products to solve realworld proportion problems.
Standard:
M07AR1.1.2 Determine whether two quantities are proportionally related (e.g. by testing for equivalent ratios in a table, graphing on a coordinate plane, and obseerving whether the graph is a straight line through the origin.
M07AR1.1.3 Identify the constant of proportionality (unit rate) in tables, graphs, equations, diagrams, and verbal descriptions of proportional relationships.
M07AR.1.1.4 Represent proportional relationships by equations.
M07AR1.1.5 Explain what a point (x,y) on the graph of a proportional relationship means in terms of the situation, with special attention to the points (0,0) and (1,r) where r is the unit rate.
M07AR1.1.6 Use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems.
C.C. 2.1.7.0.1 Analyze proportional relationships and use them to model and solve real world and mathematical problems.
C.C.2.2.7.B.3. Model and solve real world and mathematical problems by using and connecting numerical, algebraic, and/ or graphical representations.
