Welcome to the MUSIC CHOICE BOARD!

Please read through the following projects and choose one project to complete each week that we are off.  Do your very best and most of all, have fun!

A - FAMILY MEMBER INTERVIEW:  Choose a family member to interview about music they enjoyed when they were a child.  Find out their favorite song when they were young.  Write out the title and words of the song on a piece of paper.  Have them teach the song to you; you will perform it when we return to school.

B - CREATE AN INSTRUMENT:  Did you every want to be an inventor?  Use your creativity to invent a new instrument.  You may use household items to create an actual instrument or you may draw your instrument on paper.  If you are choosing to draw your instrument you need to give it a name and label the parts of your instrument.  Your picture must be colored in.  Be prepared to present your instrument to your classmates when you return to school.

C - COMPOSER PROJECT:  Do you want to be a composer?  Write a song that you will perform for your classmates.  The song must be 4 stanzas in length and you need to add body percussion to your song.  Use claps, pats and snaps to accompany your song.  I can't wait to hear what you come up with!

D - CREATE A PUPPET:  Use material at your house to create a puppet for the Land of Sing!  You can use items like a sock or mitten, a paper bag or anything else that you come up with.  Give your puppet a name and practice singing with him/her so you can demonstrate your puppet in the Land of Sing when you return to school.

E - SOUND SCAVENGER HUNT:  Use your careful listening skills to complete this project.  Be very still and quiet - listen to the sounds all around you.  Draw a picture to describe each sound that you hear.  You need to discover at least 7 sounds on this scavenger hunt.  You will show your pictures and describe the sounds to your classmates when you return to school.
