Mrs. Lisa Gasper
1G Room C-110
Welcome to 1st grade! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Gasper and I will be your child’s 1st Grade teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. I look forward to a successful and positive year. As their teacher, it is my goal to make the atmosphere meet the students’ needs physically and emotionally. Here are some important notes to remember this year.
ARRIVAL: If your child walks or comes by car, please arrive no earlier than 8:40 am. If they get breakfast they may come by 8:30 am.
DISMISSAL is at 3:10 pm. Make sure your child knows how they will be getting home. A note or DOJO message is needed daily if there are any changes.
DOJO I have sent everyone a DOJO message, please accept, this will be our main way of direct communication.
ABSENCES: Please call the hotline at 459-3221, ext 21500 if your child will be absent. Send a doctor’s note on the 1st day back.
Your child will need a clear/mesh backpack with their name on it.
Please label ALL your child’s belongings.
Lunch is at 1:24-1:54 daily.
We will have SNACK every day around 11:30. Please send a small, healthy snack daily. No candy, gum or glass bottles. Snack will NOT be provided for them and cannot be shared. Please bring water or a clear liquid to drink.
All HOMEWORK that needs to be completed will be in the RED folder. Homework will be stamped on top or put in the sign and return side of the folder. Homework is an important part of learning, it reinforces the day’s lesson. Please check the folder DAILY. The folder must go home and come back every day. Please sign and complete every day. No homework = No Recess for the day.
TESTS will be given periodically in reading, math, and spelling. Please check for Spelling words in the Homework folder.
Please feel free to leave any notes or comments in the folders. I do check folders every morning. A note must be sent for bus changes or walker changes for the day.
I would appreciate if each child would bring in 2 boxes of TISSUES to be used in the classroom.
We will be doing Centers, Intervention Groups and Imagine Learning. Guided Reading will be used along with Intervention lessons. This allows small groups of 3-5 students to be instructed in reading strategies, while others are working in centers.
Specials for the week are:
- Monday- Gym (sneakers)
- Friday- Gym (sneakers)
BIRTHDAYS are special days for children. Non-food items may be sent if desired, or a HEALTHY treat.
BOOK CLUB orders will be sent home periodically, please return by due date and cash or checks made to SCHOLASTIC.
All Homework pickups need to be done between 3:40 and 4:00 pm only, when a child is absent.
If you need to schedule a doctor appointment or leave early, please do so before 2:45. No child will be able to leave between 2:45 and 3:10 unless an emergency, due to the dismissal.
If you need to speak with me please send a note or call the school. I will get back with you as soon as possible.
Let’s have a Wonderful and Productive Year!
