Phys. Ed. (7th-8th Grade)
The student's grades are based on a daily schedule. I grade on the 3 factors listed below.
**Class work comprises 50% of the grade. The students need to wear proper clothes(NO dresses or skirts) and shoes. Sneakers are the safest shoes because they provide the best comfort and support during physical activities. Without proper clothes and/or shoes, they will lose 2 points for the day. The students are expected to fulfill the class work until the class period is over. If the student fails to give a high level of effort, then he/she will lose points accordingly.
**Sportspersonship will be 25% of the grade. The students can earn 2 points per day depending on their interaction with others/teacher and behavior in the class. These points can be lost in a variety of ways: disrupting class, fighting, arguing, bullying, putting others down, disrespecting equipment/ teacher/ or other students, etc. Breaking certain rules can cause me to sit the student out of the activity, which may also affect their participation grade. The non-participating and behavior problem students will receive a written assignment which will go towards their behavior grade (minus -1 point if not completed.)
Skill work will comprise 25% of the grade. Every sport has a number of skills that each student needs to learn to enhance their ability. We will be working with these skills each day and the students will be expected to progress with the use of these skills daily. After each day of instruction and practice, the students' progression of these skills will be graded.
**Each category will work as follows:
45 days of the qtr. x 2 points per day= 90pts. out of a possible 100pts.
***This leaves 10 points remaining per category. These ten points will be earned as follows:
10pts. earned for a 100 avg., 9pts. earned for 90 avg., 8pts earned for 80 avg. etc.
***The teacher may deduct additional points at any time based on student behavior. They will be taken directly from the extra 10 points in each category.
Grading Procedure:
-
Class Work- 50% (2 points/day)
-
Sportspersonship- 25% (2 points/day)
-
Skill Work- 25% (2 points/day)
Phys. Ed. (1st-6th Grade)
The students grades are based on 10 points/day. I grade on 2 factors. The first is Class work. For class work, the students need to wear sneakers. Sneakers are the safest shoes because they provide the best comfort and support during the Phys. Ed. activities. Without sneakers, they will lose points for the day. The students are expected to work on the activity until the class period is over. If the student fails to give a high effort level, then he/she will lose points accordingly. The second factor is Behavior. The student will be expected to follow school/gym rules. Failure to follow the rules will result in loss of Phys. Ed. time and loss of points. At any time, the non-participating and behavior problem students may receive a hand written assignment.
Grading Procedure:
-
Class Work/Behavior- (10 points/day)
Health (7th Grade)
The student's grades will be based on: assignments/quizzes, classwork/notebook, projects, and behavior. Homework maybe given as an assignment grade.in order to determine a grade for the quarter, take the average of each group add them together and divide by 4. The students will be graded using the information below. The plan is to cover 6 chapters in 1st qtr. and 6-7 more chapters in the 2nd qtr.
Assignments not handed in on time will have a consequence of -5 points per day (a 0 will be given after 5 days).
**NOTE:The content covered may be changed by the teacher at any time due to time constraints.
-
Assignments/Quizzes- 25%
-
