It is recommended that students take medications at home before or after school. If that is not possible, a signed parent permission form is required before the medication can be administered. Over the counter medication ( Tylenol, Antacid) can be administered in school if a completed emergency card, verifying that the medication is allowed to be given, is on file in the nurse's office.
Parents may come to school to administer medications to their child.
The only medications allowed to be carried by a student during school hours are asthma inhalers and Epi-pens. A written note is needed from the physician in order to carry these medications.
