The STEAM WORKS

  • Welcome to Little Goat Game Design's THE STEAMWORKS.

    Hi,  My name is Mrs. Kozlek. I am so excited to be teaching this interactive course to your students. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathmatics. This course is designed to get 8th graders thinking, designing and having fun with STEM. Each week students will design and create various projects. Students will research, build, program, and design their way throughout the class. Students will need to be creative and show their artistic ability. We will be doing tons of team working projects and brain teasers. Students will record data in their blue stem packets. These books are provided to each of the students. Students will learn through the process of having fun.  It is expected that students be on their best behavior and respect the supplies provided to them. Most items were purchased through grant funding.

    Sample Schedule

    Week One/Two: Orientation/Nike

    Week Two & Three: NASA (hovercrafts, rovers, alien drops...)

    Week  Four: King Arthur Society (catapults, airplanes, helicopters, and research)

    Week Five: Flight  (paper airplanes, helicopters, balloon racers)

    Week Six: Rubber Band Racers

    Week Seven and Eight: Robotics (FLL, robotic hand) [EV3 Build Directions]

    Week Nine: STEAM Olympics
