Teacher Message: Well we made it 8th grade! This is the last week of the course. Please make sure you complete atleast 51% of all of your courses by the end of the week. Congratulations to all of you who meet this goal. I am very proud of those of you who reached 100%. You made us very proud of your hardwork and achievements. Reaching a longterm goal of finishing the whole course, shows me you are certainly ready for the next phase of your educational career. I am so excited for each and everyone of you and want to congratulate on finishing this school year. As a reminder locker clean out begins on Monday. Please make sure you bring back any books you may have at home.

1. Set short-term and long-term goals.
2. Create a plan for education and career success with specific goals and milestones.
3. Identify possible barriers to achieving educational and career goals.
13.2.8.D: Develop an individualized career portfolio including components, such as, but not limited to: (Career exploration results, Career plans, Interests/hobbies, Personal career goals)
CC.3.6.6-8.F: Conduct short research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question), drawing on several sources and generating additional related, focused questions that allow for multiple avenues of exploration.
PDN: This week’s essential question is “What is the process for developing a career plan?” . As we end our career journey this week, I want you to answer this last question in your journal “What things would my job need to include in order to make me feel satisfied?”

Create a list of 5 goals you have for a future career of your choice
Assignments and Assessments: You will also be asked to answer questions for the Unit Summary to wrap up the course.
