    Welcome to Mrs. Ferdinand’s 5th Grade

    * Reading * Spelling * English * Writing

     

    Please provide the following for your child:

     

    * One (1) Folder – I call it your “Take Home Folder”

    You will use this folder for the papers that come from my classes ONLY.

     

    * Two (2) ONE SUBJECT notebooks – WIDE RULED

    One notebook will be used for Reading and the other for English.

     

    * One (1) Composition notebook – WIDE RULED

    This is going to be your Reading Journal.  We will use this every day in class

     and for homework Monday through Thursday nights.

     

    • One (1) Plastic Folder w/ Prongs to hold paper – Spelling Folder

    This will be used for daily spelling work.

     

    ***Please send your child with water daily as we our water fountains are turned off***

     

    *Students will be reading chapter books daily in the classroom.  

    If you have a book at home that you are ready to read,

     please bring it in this week.  I have a small library in my classroom that you may borrow from at any time. Books must be age appropriate and of any genre of interest. Comic like books or books that contain content that is not rich in good literature will not be permitted.

     

    Scholastic Book orders will be sent home on a monthly basis. More to follow on this next week …

     

    Students will need 3 sharpened pencils daily and an eraser. Please send art supplies in a small pouch/case (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc) as we will not be sharing those materials this year.
