World Studies-Course Description
Modern World Studies is a course designed to give students an understanding of the formation and development of the diverse cultures of the world and the contributions of those cultures to modern society. Students will explore these cultures, the people and their history, their economies and governments, and the complex relationship between people and their environment. A wide range of experiences is offered to engage and challenge students in making better sense of the world around us. Significant past, present, and possible future events are highlighted and explored. Ongoing appreciation of current events in light of our changing world will be a course ideal as well.
