The mission of the Hazleton Area School District of Security and School Police Services is to protect the safety and welfare of all students, faculty, staff, parents and guest who are on Hazleton Area School District properties.  We accomplish our mission through a Community Oriented Security and Policing framework that is deeply rooted in providing professional and responsive services with compassion and concern.  We will enforce all school policies and laws in an impartial manner at all schools within the district, and we will do so with honor, integrity, and respect for the dignity of all citizens, staff and students.  The Department of Security and School Police Services will execute its duties and tasks in a skillful, proficient manner and will be responsive to the changing nees of our community and school district.
    Every student will achieve their full academic potential; every person has a right to a safe school; children and adults, students and non students, may have insight into the recognition and resolution of problems, and every officer has complete authority and responsibility for the safety of their schools within the confines of the budget, law, ethics and policy.
    The Department of Security and School Police Services is composed of Security Officers, Cafeteria Monitors and School Police Officers.  We are a unified Department that at times has different roles but at all times has a common mission and commitment to service and professionalism.
