Course Description:
Seventh grade science will focus on the following two main themes: (1) life science and (2) physical science. Throughout the year, students will be involved in many exploratory activities as well as getting up to date on the current issues affecting our world today.
Class Work/Homework:
In class and online, students will be participating in a variety of activities such as reading, discussions, answering questions, note taking, and lab data analysis. They will also be involved with many individual and small group inquiry-based activities and projects. Nearly all assignments started in class (both in-person and online) will be finished in class. Homework will be assigned on an as needed basis for assignments not finished in class or for preparation for an upcoming test/quiz, lab or project.
Student Expectations and Responsibilities:
Students at this age should be responsible enough to come to class prepared. This entails bringing their computers fully charged and ready to use the online resources available. Please also have a one subject notebook and pencil for each class. Students are also responsible for obtaining any missed work due to absences.
Grading:
Science grades will come from tests, quizzes, in class activities, homework, and projects/labs. Please check Skyward frequently for the most current science grade.
Parent/Teacher Communication:
If there is a concern with a student, I will contact parents by phone or writing. Please feel free to contact me at school with any questions or concerns, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
