This class will emphasize general principles of organism and population biology with a concentration on evolution and diversity among organisms. Emphasis will be placed on structural and physiological adaptations for such processes as nutrition, fluid and gas exchange, and hormonal regulation. An understanding of the environment will be covered. Research methods and inquiry based laboratories will be utilized. Problem solving, decision-making, and hands-on learning will be used help you succeed in this class.My goal is to provide a safe, supportive learning environment, which will allow students to develop the skills necessary to become life-long learners. All students will be active participants and develop self-responsibility in the educational process in order to reach their highest potential.
All biology courses will follow the Hazleton Area School District’s Science Curriculum for Biology IA.
