    It's all about SHADING this week!!

    Monday, April 20th, 2020 assignment:

    For this week, watch a short video on the introduction of shading. 

    Click this video to watch.  For your assignment make sure to watch how she practices pencil pressure.  On a piece of paper and with a pencil try to practice your own pencil pressure, as you

    shade from lightest to darkest.   It should look similiar to the videos.  The next step is to practice a shading grid.  Draw a long rectangle then divide it into 5 sections.  Start from the right with the darkest and go back one section at a time making each section before it lighter and lighter.  Check your completed grid with the videos grid,  they should look similar, as well.

    Wednesday, April 22, 2020 assignment:

    I did not have an assignment for Tuesday, since today's assignment is a bit longer.

    Step one:  watch this video, draw your own boxes and follow the technique used for shading the boxes.

    Step two:  Watch this final video.  Find a circular object like a glass and trace it 6 times.  Then complete each circle using the shading techniques shown in this video.  

    For the blending technique, they ask you to blend using a blending tool.  You may not have one of these tools, so instead use a small piece of paper and roll it up creating a point at the end.  Blend with the end of the rolled up paper instead.  It will do the same job for you.  

    Take pictures of your work and email them to me when completed.

    Thursday; April 23, 2020 assignment:

    For today's assignment, you will need a coffee mug, a pencil, and a piece of paper.  I want you to sit the mug on your table and draw it first.  Then, I want you to share it in.  Take your time!!! Shading it should make it look 3d when you are finished.  Here is a video that will help you.  In this video, he draw a saucer, mugh and spoon.  That is not necessary, I'm only asking you to draw a mug.  If you want a more advanced challenge,  then you may draw all three.  But please dont just copy his drawing, I want you to draw from life.  So draw what you see, your mug!!!  Then send me your mug drawings!!!!
